Better than a stroller

Whenever I see a random shopping cart in a residential neighborhood I always shake my head and ask "really, how the hell did that get there?" And mumble something about homeless people. This time the cart was a a little chariot sent by and angel. I've been putting off buying a little "umbrella stroller" for weeks now. I knew I would need it. I knew there would be a time when I kicked myself for not having it in my trunk. Especially when lugging 25 pounds of solid baby boy down several blocks while holding a huge bag in the other shoulder. Pam and I had a wonderful day together and had to walk to the park from Starbucks....but it really was a long haul! On our way back I was dreading carrying him back since after a long visit in the sun running around with him. So I looked at Pam and said we COULD use the shopping cart....and she's my best friend because she looked at me for a split second and said "totally!!" While slinging her own gear into the basket. Thank goodness for that cart! It was worth every weird look as our squeaky wheels ran down the perfect sidewalks next to perfectly manicures land of south Pasadena.
