Guest Blogger: My Week with Wolfie

"Wolfie and I had a wonderful week recently, playing and having fun, while his mommy and daddy were at work.  I really enjoyed this chance to be with Wolfie and get to know his emerging personality.
Wolfie is a very curious baby eager to learn everything about the world around him. He loves to watch moving leaves and branches outside, and he intently studies small patterns on fabrics. Since he was born he has had this little furrowed brow of concentration when he is trying to figure something out. It's so cute how seriously he wants to learn.

When he is active, he gets a workout waving his arms, and kicking hard. His piano and mobile with rattles are especially entertaining for him because he seems to understand that he is causing all the commotion with his kicks. Sometimes he just likes to make noise with his voice, and has developed big sounds that get lots of interaction from others.

The best part of spending time with Wolfie is being rewarded with his smiles. When I hold him and feed him, or rock him and sing to him, and think he is falling asleep, he opens his eyes and looks at me adoringly, then smiles! Oh, it is irresistible. When he wakes up from a nap, and when he is being changed, he is all smiles, and ready to laugh. Wolfie is a happy little boy, and a real joy to be with."

Nanny Diaries: Rubber Face

Today I got a text from  Emma, that read: "When I snapped this he farted."

LOOK at those eyes?  Since he was a baby he has given us the funniest eyebrow expressions I've ever seen.  My grandpa Don used to call me "Rubber Face" when I was a baby.  Then it morphed into "Troll".  Then in college it was "Smeagle". LOL!

Emma is our new nanny and we LUV her!  She's such a calm spirit, creative, A SINGER, and I truly trust her with my boy.

Four Months!

Well, a couple days ago Wolfie celebrated his FOUR MONTH birthday, but I'm finally getting around to the 2.5 month photos I had taken of him at Sears. :)  He's grown so much since these  photos but still adorable nevertheless. The black and white one I loved becuase it reminded me of a 1950's portrait.  The one with the teddy bear is so sweet too, I love them both. If anyone needs JPG's of these let me know!

Clean as a Whistle

I love all of the "firsts" that having a baby creates.  Here, is Wolfie's first shower with daddy.  He LOVED it!  Not so much giggles and smiles, as much as curiosity over the shower stream hitting his belly.  It was a really fun moment, I'm so glad I captured it.  Man was it easier to pop him in the shower with Eric than bending over a bathtub, lol.  More updates to come! I'm just getting my head above water since starting work, I know I have a lot to update!  Stay tuned.

It's Come Full Circle

Last weekend, we took Wolfie to the beach and had a great time.  We met up with Grandma and Grandpa Dickson at their abode in Manhattan and had a lovely brunch at a little cafe right there on the sand.  It's one of the few places you can actually eat and smell the ocean.  We then put him in the "BoB" for a hearty jog along the strand.  Poor Shima got a little tuckered out, but Wolfie was kind enough to let him have a ride. We made it to the pier which has huge significance for Eric and I .  On our infamous second date, where we talked about Wolfie being the name of our first born son, we went out to the pier and cuddled on the bench.  We held each other tightly, took really deep breaths, and marveled at the beautiful feeling we both were having that we were meant to spend our lives together.  That was 9 and a half years ago, and there we were holding our beloved Wolfie at that very same spot.
